18m (July 20- Aug 20)

We continued living up the summer with month with one trip to Maine and two to Georgetown.  We celebrated our 5 year anniversary!  It was so fun :)  We met my parents in Maine and spent Thursday night and Friday morning with them and then peaced out on a 24 hour hot date to Ogunquit ME.  We ended up not actually making it the full 24 hours since we missed Spencer so much, but we did get to walk the Marginal way, and eat out and not have to pressure the waitor (to bring our food ASAP and perhaps just bring the bill while he's at it).  The next day we went to downtown Kennebunk port and found Bobo!  Spencer loved everything in this one kid store and after leaving Brian and I decided to go back with him.  He picked out Bobo and the rest is history.  The soft furry dog that looks a little more like a bear is Spencer's favorite thing!  He even named him Bobo all on his own.  He just kept saying it as we left to walk home.

The next weekend we went down to Georgetown to help set up and celebrate Matt & Lilly's wedding.  It was fun to get to be part of the set-up.  I was in charge of hanging the lights, though that does not mean I did it all by myself.  Anyways, I was super proud how they turned out!  It was sweet to get to see Matt & Lilly celebrate their wedding with so many friends and family.  Matt sure found himself an awesome wife!  Another fun thing about the wedding was getting to hang out with Nikki and Annie!  Annie and Miles even spent the night at my parents house with us one night.  Very fun :)

Lots of books.

Brian's birthday! Luckily, Brian's co-residents saved the day and gave Brian this amazing chocolate cake to celebrate.

Life gets way more fun with Dad comes home!

And finally, easily the best thing of all the things that happened this month... we found out we are having a baby!  Woohoo!  When fast Sunday rolled around I really did not want to fast, but decided to anyways since I didn't really have a good excuse or anything.  I took a nap right after church and felt super faint when I woke up.  I just sat down while Brian made dinner.  As I explained how I was feeling Brian suggested I take a pregnancy test.  I thought that was a silly idea; however, when I woke up feeling the same way the next morning I decided to follow his advice.  Ahhhhh! I could hardly believe it and even though it was 8:15am I called Brian right away.  His patient had actually not showed up so he could hear the good news and talk with me for a minute.  What a blessing!  We are so excited and so thankful to get to have another baby join our family.

The other thing I have to mention about this month is how easy-going Spencer has been.  We have been living a crazy life with trips away almost every weekend.  His easy-going and flexible nature are the only thing that keep them possible.  He is such a sweet, happy, loving boy!

June 20-July 20

It may be hard to tell from all the photos, but Brian did start working July 1st.  He is at Dartmouth finishing his dermatology residency.  They had a nice welcome party for the two new residents and it was fun to meet everyone Brian will work with for the next couple years.  It will be a nice change of pace for Brian to work with familiar faces and not completely new staff every 4 weeks.

There was a lot of fun to be had along with working.  We ended up leaving just about every weekend and headed to Georgetown, or the beach in ME.  My two best friends and their families also visited us at our new home.  Way too much fun!  And here are the photos!  **You'll notice Brian is taking dermatology residency very seriously and has started using zinc sun screen... hence the "glow".  :)

NH: The Gill family came and helped us unpack / settle down into our new place.  We visited the Joseph Smith Birthplace and the Dartmouth special collections to see an original copy of the Book of Mormon.  It's pretty neat to live so close to such church history.

Georgetown: We had a little smores fire in my parents back-yard that was all fun and games until spencer got burned :/

Spencer sure loves Roxy! And all things dog... I hope he appreciates this photo when he's older.

A little family hike in our NH woods.

Nikki, Jayne and Jack came to visit! We took the kids to story time, got ice cream, explored the farmers market and soaked up the friend love <3

Spencer loves baking... with or without Mom around.  :)  He had gotten all these ingredients from the lazy susan cupboard in the kitchen and brought them into our bedroom to play.  Then I found him like this.  So cute!

In Georgetown again! Spencer and Grandpa driving the boat.  We also got to see Aaron & Lupe's family while they were visiting out here.

We took a local NH trip to Canaan for swimming. Spencer loved the water! He really enjoys blowing bubbles in it.

Spencer exploring the river in our neighborhood.

16 months

This month of Spencer's life saw us in Spokane, Ferndale, Indianapolis, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine!  A transition month to say the least.  Our final week in Spokane was full of lasts: our last Sunday, the last free food from the hospital, Brian's last night shift ever (can I get a Wahoo!?)

Then we spent two weeks at Tree Farm while Brian did a mini rotation with a dermatology practice nearby.  We were so lucky to overlap with Eric & Lauren's as well as  Pete & Steph's families.  Cousin love is just the best!

This is spencer's serious face.  He LOVED the tractor!

We went back to Spokane for 3 days to pack everything up and Brian and his dad left for the drive across the country.  Meanwhile Spencer and I stayed with Nikki and Sean for a few days.  It was sooo fun!

Brian and his dad made it in great time! My parents and Max picked me up from the airport and we all rendezvoused at our new home and had a nice unloading party.  The next day Brian, Spencer and I drove up to Burlington, VT to unload Ivy's things.  It worked out great to share a truck with her.

Whew! It was a pretty crazy month full of sleeping in new places and lots of packing.
