This month you will see lots of books, some new baby excitement, and a few fun fall adventures. Spencer continues to love books! He really gets into them. He likes to turn the pages, ask questions, point things out, and even enjoys just reading by himself sometimes. Brian and I both love getting to have some book time with Spencer.
We got our first peek at our new addition to the family this month! The staging ultrasound showed the baby was a little older than we thought, and the due date was moved from April 4th, to March 25! It was kind of fun to skip ahead a couple weeks! We celebrated with a little ice cream trip to Dairy Twirl, the super popular ice cream shop right down our road.
Brian has been working hard at his residency job. Saturdays he will study about 5 hours, and lately we have been enjoying him staying home a couple hours Saturday morning (then he will head in to study from about 10am-3pm). It is so fun to have him around! We will sometimes make a special breakfast and then do some chores together. Below you can see Spencer and Brian putting together our new toy cubby shelves. Spencer LOVES helping and tools, so this project was a dream come true. Spencer helped by pounding in the dowels into place and did such a good job.
Nursery is fun! Spencer enjoys seeing his friends in nursery and has started going by himself the whole time. Isn't he so cute in his church outfit!
We checked out the book, "Waiting for Baby" from the library. Spencer really likes reading it and talking about our new baby. Brian even instigated Spencer getting to take my blood pressure :)
Coloring! Spencer has gotten into coloring lately. He likes to pick out a crayon and do a little coloring and then put it back and get another color. We've started working on which color is which. Spencer first learned brown, and it is his favorite color to draw with. His second favorite is black. I think it's because they show up the easiest.
We took a trip to Billings Farm as a family. Spencer loved seeing the cows, sheep, and chickens. It was fun to enjoy the fall weather together as a family. There were all sorts of little games to play. There's a picture of Spencer bowling.
Spencer loves using his "monkey board" (the little balancing board pictured).
Spencer also loves trying to get Dad's glasses! He is always pointing out whenever Brian takes them off, or puts them on. What an observant boy!
Another fall outing was our trip to Riverview Farm to pick out a family pumpkin. Spencer liked that we actually brought it home with us. He likes using it as a seat :)
