Spencer celebrated 6 months on Wednesday. He has been such a blessing in our family for this past 6 months, and even the 8 months we were anxiously awaiting his arrival! This past month we started letting Spencer try food. It's been fun/scary (I am poised to do the heimlich whenever he has food within reach). He's tried banana, peach, apple, grape, nectarine, zuccini (his favorite so far), cucumber, sweet potato, carrot, tomato (a close second to zuccini). He doesn't get much, but enjoys squishing the food and tasting the juice. :)
He spelt through the night for a whole week, but then got a stuffy nose and we reverted to waking up at 3 or 4 am every night. Though last night he surprised us and slept through the whole night, so we will see.
He rolls over from back to tummy then gets frustrated pretty quickly and spits up. We've only seen him roll back over onto his back once. He's started sitting up which is really exciting. He seems to really like it.
He talks and talks and talks. He has a pretty vast vocabulary too :)
He really pays attention in Sunday School. It is so funny to see him looking at the teacher enthralled by what is going on. I guess it's called mutual attention (if you're paying attention to something your child will too) but that generally happens later.
Now when you start to unbuckle him from his car seat he will reach out his arms and arch his back to be picked up.
He loves cooking with me, either sitting in his high chair on the counter or facing forwards in the Moby wrap. Especially if he is in the Moby in the center of all the action he will hang out in there for at least an hour.
He is more into books. Not quite as much as this picture makes you think, but he likes grabbing the pages and turning them forward but mostly backward. And tummy time is less awful, meaning he spits up less.
Brian enjoying the cool air from the AC unit he made. It did effectively drop the temp about 2-3 degrees F in one room! yay! Let's just say we will have AC for the rest of our lives... haha :)
We drove home last minute to hear David give his farewell talk. So worth the drive. It was special to see the soon to be Elder Hoyt. We also got to see Heidi and her fiance (except they prefer the title boyfriend/girlfriend) Eric. They are so cute and in love :)
I've started taking Spencer outside before naps to expose him to new things and tucker him out, so we spend lots of time in our little patch of grass :) He's also been big into sucking on his lower lip as seen below. It is adorable, especially when he starts making lip smacking noises!
Peaches in Spokane are AMAZING! Easily the best peaches I've ever eaten. It was so fun to go with Spencer.
